Beam replacement Worcester Community Housing

Project: Replacement of structural steel beam and widening of the existing structural opening.

Working in the offices of Worcester Community Housing, ISB Contracting were invited to tender for the replacement of a 6m steel beam, to facilitate the creation of extra office space in the refurbished offices below.
The offices above remained in use and this specialist structural beam replacement was carried out by direct operatives of ISB Contracting. Needle and propping calculations were arranged by us and with the use of specialist lifting equipment the new beam was carefully hoisted into place to support the concrete floor slab above.

As a result of this work we secured a 12 month contract working for Worcester Community housing on an external upgrade programme of some of their housing stock and sheltered schemes. These works come to an end at the end of the 2011/12 financial year and we are currently awaiting the opportunity to quote for future works from next year’s budget.
